Design by American illustrator and self-proclaimed minimal realist, Charley Harper’s graphically-charged and often humorous depictions of flora and fauna continue to provide a wealth of imagery that translates perfectly into tiles. Motawi’s unique mastery of the Cuenca technique of tile-making makes it possible to give the animals of Harper’s colorfully whimsical world a new life in a new medium.
