Needle & Textile Art

Framing the Fabrics of Life

Needle art includes various kinds of thread or yarn designs sewn into a fabric background. We frame counted cross-stitch, needlepoint, lacework, embroidery, crewel, crochet, quilts, tapestry, rugs and samplers. Textile art refers to various forms of artwork or clothing, including scarves, quilts, beadwork, sarees, molas, and woven fabric.

Some of these pieces are precious family heirlooms and others are contemporary. As this work represents an investment of both time and talent, we suggest the use of preservation framing techniques when it is time to display them. Our framers are trained in proper archival mounting methods to ensure the points of stress on the textile are minimal. Methods include; lacing, pressure mounting with felt, pinning, stitching to reinforcing fabric and tacking with thread. Our designers can discuss which option is best for your textile.
