Heritage Photography Framing

Protection, preservation, and elegant presentation of antique family photographs is one of our specialties at The Framer's Workshop. We will help you frame one photo or a whole family collection. We can assist in the coordination of a growing photo wall with antique-style frames and acid-free rag or fabric mats. No matter what style of framing you choose, we protect your photos from light damage with ultra-violet filtering glass and surround them with archival materials to resist acid damage. This photograph is entitled Vintage Bride, by Carolyn Whitaker. We chose this lovely photograph to frame in four distinctly different styles to capture the essence of antique photography framing. We hope the following four close-up examples inspire you to create your own Heritage Framing designs. Below the Vintage Bride photographs you will find more exquisite examples of our antique photography framing.

Vintage Bride triple matted with champagne silk and mahogany mats and framed with an antique gold frame.	Vintage Bride mounted on rag paper trimmed with a Victorian edge, floated on Pongee silk and matted with an 8 ply hand-wrapped raw silk. Antique English photograph triple matted using Beige Flicker rice paper matting with a small taupe center mat. The delicate gold floral frame with a taupe underlay finishes the age-enhanced appearance of the piece.	Theatrical photograph, 1955, artistically presented in a bronze tone antique frame, floated on 100% cotton rag paper cut with a Victorian edge and mounted on a Sonoma Suede raised platform surrounded with a textured Cream Flora mat border. Heritage Photo Walls. These walls display framed antique photographs from both sides of an Orinda, CA family. The photographs were framed differently to enhance their historical nature and individuality, yet they were designed as a group project so that they compliment each other. The walls flank a long hallway, and were hung so that the family could add to the framed collection over time.
