"Peace Lanterns by Yoshiko Yamamoto is based on a sketch of the lantern-floating ceremony in Seattle, WA. Commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima, August 6th, 1945, the event is a community celebration that advocates for world peace. Yoshiko hand-carved the keyblock and created 13 more polymer relief blocks to print this night-time scene. Printed on 100% cotton Rives BFK paper, mold-made in France. Limited edition of 180 signed & numbered copies. The first fifty (numbered from 1 through 50) were donated to the "From Hiroshima to Hope" event organizers to help raise funds for the annual event.
The edition is out of print. The few we have are sold framed only. Call or email us if you would like yours framed with a different treatment from the above. Shown with a specialty cut, dark gray acid free mat with a brown undermat cut in the shape of a floating lantern. Broad rustic wood frame 15"x23" $400.
