Framed Penn Crew Shirts and Brass Plaque

This project was brought to us by a member of the University of Pennsylvania Crew. He asked us to frame a Penn t-shirt and winner's medal along with t-shirts belonging to two defeated teams. The shirts belonging to the defeated teams were to be placed below Penn shirt, along with the plaque honoring the Penn Crew. To create this large shadow box, we attached the shirts to a fabric backing using careful stitches and raised the ultraviolet protective acrylic off the contents with a matching deep scoop liner. We ordered the plaque in heavy brass with black color-filled letters so that the text would stand out. We attached the plaque to a solid riser so that it would float above the shirts, and screwed the riser through a solid backing for extra support. We used a Larson-Juhl deep shadow box frame to house the objects. The project hangs in the Penn boathouse.
