The design of your framing is the first element in the successful outcome of your framing project. Our goal is to preserve, protect, and compliment your art so that you can enjoy it for a lifetime. Our design team is experienced in both the esthetics of your work and the necessary structure of your framing. We take the time to explain your choices and help you explore possibilities that will that will enhance your art and please your budget. We are experts at framing design consultation, while also encouraging you to be part of the process. We’ll give you as much guidance as you need, making the design process easy and comfortable so you get just what you want at a price that works for you.

Your work will be carefully framed by dedicated custom framers in a separate workroom on our mezzanine floor. An owner or manager checks the structural support and archival technique throughout the execution of your framing project. In addition to photographs and works of art on paper or canvas, our specialized framers work with fabrics, three-dimensional art, antique paper, and heavy, fragile, or unusual objects. We custom design mirrors.

We are a family run business serving the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 1977. All of our work is done in-house using the latest in framing equipment under the supervision of owners and managers who have decades of framing experience. We use archival framing methods and materials and we are in the process of Bay Area Green Certification. We are problem solvers who can find solutions for almost any framing challenge, be it the archival attachment of three-dimensional objects, a complex mat, or installation on difficult surfaces. 

We believe in ongoing education and attend yearly conferences and trade shows to bring you the latest in both design elements and preservation techniques. We also teach preservation framing for photography and printmaking classes at the college level, and write for framing trade publications. You can be assured that your art is being handled responsibly by trained professionals

We guarantee our work (and yours) for life

We will repair any defects in workmanship on any of our frames at any time. If any of our work needs repair, just bring it back to us, with our intact sticker on the back, and we will make the repair free of charge. Broken glass? Dropped your frame? No problem. Bring the frame back to us and we will charge you only for replacement materials. The labor is on us. This guarantee also applies to do-it-yourself full framing projects.
