Restoration of The Month
Not All Restorations Are Dramatic
Restoration of the month
As you've seen over the months, many photographs require significant restoration. But not always. This photograph from the 1930s was in excellent condition except for having yellowed with age. Restoring it to its original glory was simple enough, but look what a difference it makes! Simple in-house restorations $35.

Kirstie and Jeff in Chicago

Kirstie at the Degas Exhibition, Art Institute of Chicago
On their yearly weekend in Chicago where Kirstie serves  on an advisory board for one of our vendors, they combine visiting with colleagues, having art-related fun, and learning something new each time. This year they visited The Art Institute to see the exhibit, Degas: At the Track, On the Stage. As framers, we always look at the preservation quality of the framing as well as the art, and we were pleased to see that the glazing used was Tru Vue Optium Museum Acrylic. It is virtually reflection free, allowing full enjoyment of the art.

Futuristic Frames: They also visited a 3-D Printing facility where Kirstie designed a fanciful picture frame. More about this next month when the finished product will arrive in the shop.
