Obscuring YOUR
Reflections Obscuring YOUR vision_

When Kirstie & Jeff visited The Netherlands recently, they saw these two Cubist paintings hung side by side in the Kröller-Müller Museum,
Hoge Veluwe National Park, Otterlol.

The first painting (top) is protected with an acrylic box. The second is protected with antireflective acrylic like Optium Museum Acrylic®. Where the first painting reflects the gallery, the second does not. The difference is clearly visible!  Click the image to learn more!

Frame Of The Month
Framed Wood Guitar Pick Collection
Framed Wood Guitar Pick Collection
A collection of wood guitar picks made from a variety of woods, arranged from lightest to darkest. The picks are float-mounted on an acid free backing. The type of wood has been inscribed below each pick, using our Valiani computerized mat cutter. (See Video, on our web page.)

The double thick, 8ply acid free mat has been cut with rounded corners to mimic the pick shapes and elevated above the picks using acid free foam core. This allows plenty of breathing room between the picks and the Museum Glass® glazing. The wood frame is a wide "butcher block" natural bamboo.
Restoration of the month
Digitally restored black & white family photo
Restored Black _ White Family Photo
Papers made from wood fiber cellulose turn yellow as they age due to the oxidation of their lignin content. This family portrait from the early 1960s was printed on reasonably good paper but had been framed with a highly acidic cardboard backing. Digital Restoration and Reprinting has returned it to its bright, crisp, original look. Always use preservation quality backings and mats and UV filtering glazing when framing work you want to last a lifetime (and beyond!).
